Westport a ‘must see’ in eastern Ontario

I have always liked the village of Westport and so I was glad when Mom suggested a lunch-time trip there.

Located in the bosom of Foley Mountain Conservation Area, at the western end of Upper Rideau Lake, Westport has long been a vacation destination for sport fishermen and boaters. (The historic post office is pictured here, the unsightly utility poles and wires an unfortunate twentieth-century concession to ‘progress’.)

As Mom shopped, unsuccessfully, for a new dress I walked around town and took a few pictures – delighted to find a favourite photo subject of mine, lily-pads.
