Canadian Maritimes Tour: Day Eleven – “The Ocean” leaves Halifax

I’ll be short and sweet today. One of my favourite pictures, strictly from a photographer’s point of view, is the one taken from inside the Halifax train station, showing Pier 21 (known in Halifax as ‘Canada’s Ellis Island’), and the Queen Mary II, in town with a ship full of tourists.

The fall colours were evident as Via Rail’s ‘The Ocean’ took me across Nova Scotia, into New Brunswick and – as we neared the dinner hour – to Moncton where I took a self-portrait on the platform.
The night will be spent, transitioning back to the Eastern (as opposed to Atlantic) time zone, rumbling across northernmost New Brunswick and southern Quebec.
