My hat’s off to Skippy, aka The Amazing Wonderdog, who articulates thoughtfully while I could only scream to myself at Buzz Hargrove:
“…depending on how Layton reacts, this may be a blessing in disguise. The big unions are no longer as important as they were in politics, as they can’t deliver the votes of their members. Autoworkers make good wages and are as concerned about tax cuts as the next suburbanite. They are no longer a natural constituency for the NDP — but at the same time, the NDP is saddled with the reputation of being in Buzz Hargrove’s pocket.
Now Paul Martin is in Buzz Hargrove’s pocket, and the NDP can no longer be said to be controlled by the unions.”
In Toronto Centre a vote for NDP candidate Michael Shapcott is a far better bet for anyone who wants a real go-getter to represent everyday people in Parliament!
