25-year old art student Thórarinn Ingi Jónsson was released on $33,000 bail today, charged with a bomb hoax that forced the shut-down of a gala fundraiser for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR). The glittery dinner was to have been held two nights ago in the lobby of the Royal Ontario Museum’s new Libeskind Crystal.
A retired honorary consul general of Iceland, the suspect’s home, posted $20,000 bail and the remainder was split between two other sureties.
