So I’m on the computer this morning, the TV is on in the other room, when all of a sudden I hear a translator, working for either Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan or CBC Newsworld, break the cardinal rule of microphones. After translating a few words of the Minister’s laboured French, she yelled, “I can’t hear. F&CK!!!” at which point her mic was cut and she presumably got on with her day ;^)
Anchor Heather Hiscox later apologized although, to be fair, Peter Van Loan– let alone a translator – hardly seems like he would require a Don Cherry-esque 8-second delay, at least not while he was suited up and showing up for work.
